San Diego's First Avenue Counseling Centre opened in 2002 as a small clinic. Another local therapy clinic had just closed, leaving an underserved market. But First Avenue was brand new. When it opened, few people even knew they existed. And as a new clinic, they did not have a lot of money or time to spend on marketing.
In the four years since they opened, a lot has changed.
We started by building First Avenue a web site where potential clients could learn all about what the agency had to offer. The agency wisely began including the web address on all of their printed materials, from business cards to intake forms. We made sure the site was included in the databases of popular search engines like Google and Yahoo!. Clients who would never otherwise had known the clinic existed found FACC's web site, and liked what they saw. The agency grew.
In 2005, we worked with First Avenue to develop a bigger online marketing strategy, one that would fit their changing needs. In addition to fully redeveloping their extensive web site, we custom-created a series of online ads targeted specifically to San Diego residents who used search engines to look for therapists. Here's what we delivered for First Avenue in just over a year:

We're especially proud of that last piece. Yellow pages publishers -- the ones who want you to advertise with them -- freely admit that the average yellow pages advertiser pays about $25 per call generated, regardless of whether the caller becomes an actual customer! Since First Avenue is a non-profit clinic with a limited marketing budget, we knew we had to deliver actual clients to the office at the lowest possible cost. What we've delivered has been cost-effectiveness far beyond their expectations.
